What's STEAM

LAUSD/USC Cinematic Arts and Engineering Magnet School is home of the new Magnet Programs that Blend Science and The Arts. Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math, also known as S.T.E.A.M. is a popular 21st-century emphasis for magnet programs in high schools and middle schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District. S.T.E.A.M.
Magnets will prepare students to become competitive innovators who use both the logic-driven left half of their brain and the creative right side of the brain. Students in these Magnets will become 21st century critical-thinking learners who master their cognitive/concrete and creative/abstract talents.

Our Mission

We are committed to student centered learning. We provide thematic, sequential and integrated academic curriculum within an active learning environment. The curriculum founded on high academic expectations and 21st century competencies focuses on incorporating grade level themes, inquiry based instruction, and Project Based Learning within the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.
